NSMA Kickboxing Champion: Fredrick Lee

Mr. Fredrick Lee began his training in the martial arts in 1992 at the age of nine under Mr. Larry Brown in Cleveland, Ohio. The style he learned was a hybrid of Hung Gar and Wing Chun that Mr. Brown deemed Black Dragon Kung Fu. Mr. Lee earned his black sash under Mr. Brown in 1999. After 10 years of training with Mr. Brown and the Black Dragon Society, Mr. Lee then joined the U.S. Air Force in 2002 and began to train with Mr. Darell Tran and Mr. Jeffrey O’Dell in Tae Kwon Do at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Box Elder, South Dakota. Within three years of vigorous training and numerous successful competitions, Mr. Lee was awarded his 1st degree black belt from Mr. O’Dell and Grandmaster Brent Jordheim and recognized by the World Tae Kwon Do Federation for achieving this rank in 2005. Mr. Lee also received his 1st degree in Tae Kwon Do under Master Linda Buckingham with recognition under the American Tae Kwon Do Association. Upon being stationed in Okinawa, Japan in 2005, Mr. Lee trained all over Okinawa and also taught kung fu to various individuals. His teaching and training led him to begin training with Tenkaichi Dojo. This dojo introduced Mr. Lee to K-1 kickboxing as well as Muay Thai. In 2008, Mr. Lee began also training with the late Seifuku Nitta and Kazuma Nitta directly and was award his 2nd degree black belt in 2009. Mr. Lee has also trained in various other styles to include Kali and Escrima, Capoeira, Kum Do and Kumbop, Hapkido, Aikido, boxing, the U.S. Army Combatives Program, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Mr. Lee has amassed numerous awards and accolades while competing in semi-contact Karate, full-contact Kung Fu, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and professional Kickboxing.
